Seventh-semester students of the Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), undertook an industry internship at PT Socfin Indonesia, Bangun Bandar, to broaden their experience and strengthen their competencies through direct learning in the industrial environment. The activity takes place from September 1 to the end of November 2026.
Seventh-semester students of the Food Technology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), are undertaking an industry internship at PT Socfin Indonesia, Bangun Bandar, Dolok Masihul, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra. The internship is being conducted from September 1 to the end of November 2026.
This activity provides students with an opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during their studies while gaining direct exposure to the world of work and industry. Through the internship experience, students can develop their skills, broaden their knowledge, build professional networks, and gain an understanding of technology, work processes, discipline, and professionalism in an industrial environment.

The internship also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening student competencies, experiential learning, and strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions and the industrial sector.
The Faculty of Agriculture, USU, encourages students not to limit their learning process to the classroom. Various activities such as internships, practical training, organizations, seminars, training programs, competitions, and other self-development activities can serve as important components in preparing students for the world of work.
Through this activity, students are expected to gain valuable experience to grow into competent, adaptive, and professional Food Technology graduates who are prepared to meet the needs of the workforce and respond to developments in the industry.
