TANBIO-BAG USU Team Secures 2026 PKM-K Funding, Introduces Biodegradable Polybags Made from Agricultural Waste The TANBIO-BAG team from Universitas Sumatera Utara has secured funding through the 2026 Student Creativity Program for Entrepreneurship (PKM-K) with an innovation featuring biodegradable polybags made from oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) biochar and rice husk ash. Developed at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, the innovation transforms agricultural waste into a useful and environmentally friendly product while encouraging student creativity and entrepreneurship. 07 September 2026

Productive and Healthy Seniors through Microgreens: Faculty of Agriculture USU Lecturer Shares Knowledge on Cultivation and Food Innovation The Microgreens Skills Training organized by LPPLU Medan featured Vira Irma Sari, S.P., M.Si., a lecturer from the Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, as a speaker.
