Participants of the World Friends Korea Youth Volunteer Program 2026 joined a campus tour at the USU Faculty of Agriculture, visiting its leading laboratories to explore research innovations and sustainable agricultural technologies.

Students from the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Sumatera Utara and universities in South Korea participated in discussion sessions, presentations, and cultural exchanges as part of the World Friends Korea Youth Volunteer Program 2026, strengthening international collaboration and sharing ideas on sustainable agriculture.

Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), delivered a public lecture on the impacts of climate change on Indonesia's agricultural sector to Indonesian and Korean students as part of the World Friends Korea Youth Volunteer Program 2026.

A community service team from Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has launched an Assisted Village Program in Rabuhit Village, Simalungun Regency, to convert agricultural and livestock waste into animal feed and organic fertilizer. The initiative aims to reduce production costs, improve community welfare, promote a zero-waste ecosystem, and contribute to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), and the Tanjung Selamat Seed Center (UPT Balai Benih Induk) have officially established a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and an Implementation Agreement (IA), strengthening collaboration in education, research, community service, and agricultural innovation to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
