The Indonesian Food Technologists Association (PATPI) officially inaugurated the Management Boards of the Medan and Kendari Branches for the 2026–2030 period through a hybrid ceremony. The inauguration of the PATPI Medan Branch, chaired by Adrian Hilman, S.TP., M.Sc., Ph.D. from USU, marks an opportunity to strengthen collaboration in the development of food innovation, research, and technology to support sustainable food sovereignty in Indonesia.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, through the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences, FP USU, is conducting collaborative research to uncover the diversity of populations and microbiomes associated with rice root-knot nematodes. The research conducted across eight regencies is expected to strengthen the scientific foundation for sustainable crop health management and rice production.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, conducted a community service program in Cempa Village, Langkat Regency, through training on processing fermented palm oil waste into livestock feed to support economic recovery and post-disaster feed resilience. The activity also contributes to the achievement of the SDGs through the utilization of local resources and the implementation of sustainable practices.

Dian Pebriyani, S.P., M.P. has been appointed as Manager of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization at the Faculty of Agriculture, USU, based on USU Rector’s Decree Number 4074/UN5.1.R/SK/HK.03/2026. This responsibility is expected to strengthen research, community service, cooperation networks, and the internationalization of the Faculty of Agriculture, USU.

Muhammad Syahril, S.P., M.P. has been appointed as Manager of Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure at the Faculty of Agriculture, USU, based on USU Rector’s Decree Number 4074/UN5.1.R/SK/HK.03/2026. The appointment is expected to support effective and sustainable management of academic resources and infrastructure.
