GEMBIRA USU 2026 presents a Business Plan Competition for active university students to develop sustainable livestock business innovations that support food security, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. Registration is open from October 12 to November 22, 2026, with a registration fee of IDR 75,000 per team.

GEMBIRA USU 2026 presents a Business Plan Competition for active university students to develop sustainable business ideas and innovations in the livestock sector. Carrying the theme “Sustainable Livestock Business Innovation through Strengthening Food Security, the Economy, and the Environment,” this competition encourages students to generate innovative, competitive business ideas that benefit society and the environment.

The competition features three subthemes that participants can use as a foundation for developing their business proposals:

  1. Livestock Product and Technology Innovation toward Digital Livestock Transformation, supporting the achievement of SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
  2. Sustainable Livestock Resource and Waste Management, supporting SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
  3. Economic Empowerment and Strengthening Livestock Businesses, supporting SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

Participant Requirements and Regulations

Active students from any higher education institution may participate in this competition by meeting the following requirements:

  1. Participants must be active students, as evidenced by a Student Identity Card (KTM).
  2. The competition is conducted in teams, with each team consisting of 2–3 students from the same higher education institution.
  3. Each participant may join a maximum of three teams and may serve as the team leader of only one team.
  4. Submitted works must be original, must not have previously won a competition, and must not infringe copyright.
  5. Participants are required to follow the Instagram account @gembirabersamausu.

Competition Schedule

The following are the stages of GEMBIRA USU 2026:

  • October 12–November 22, 2026: Registration and proposal submission.
  • November 23–25, 2026: Proposal selection.
  • November 26, 2026: Announcement of finalists.
  • November 27, 2026: Technical meeting.
  • November 28, 2026: Competition event and announcement of winners.

The main competition event will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2026. Participants will have the opportunity to receive cash prizes and certificates. The registration fee is IDR 75,000 per team.
