Food Technology students of FP USU participated in the Internship Program at PT Indofood Sukses Makmur, Tbk., Tanjung Morawa, to strengthen their competencies, industrial experience, and readiness to enter the workforce.

Seventh-semester students of the Undergraduate Program in Food Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (TP FP USU), participated in the Internship Program at PT Indofood Sukses Makmur, Tbk., Tanjung Morawa, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

The industrial internship was attended by two students of the Undergraduate Program in Food Technology FP USU, namely:

Malika Alya Jasmine (Student ID Number 230305061)
Dhili Octariana Ginting (Student ID Number 230305073)

The internship program runs from September 29, 2026, until the end of November 2026, located at PT Indofood Sukses Makmur, Tbk., Tanjung Morawa, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

This industrial internship provides students with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies in a food industry environment. Through direct industrial experience, students can become familiar with work processes, the implementation of quality and food safety standards, as well as professional work culture.

In addition to broadening their insights into the food industry, this activity is expected to help students develop various supporting competencies, such as discipline, communication, teamwork, responsibility, and adaptability. These competencies are an important part of preparing students to enter the workforce after completing their higher education.

The Internship Program is also part of learning outside the classroom that provides students with real-world experience in connecting academic knowledge with the needs of the workforce. Therefore, students are expected to make use of their internship experience as a process of becoming familiar with the professional environment while building career readiness.

This activity also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

University life is not only about learning in the classroom but also about preparing for life after graduation. Various opportunities outside the study program, such as internships, organizations, training, competitions, research, and industry experience, can be utilized as part of the process of building competencies and preparing for the future.
