Diana Sofia Hanafiah, born in Medan on August 30, 1974, is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). She completed her Bachelor of Agriculture at the Department of Plant Breeding, Faculty of Agriculture USU in 1997, Master of Agriculture at the USU Postgraduate Program in 2001, and Doctoral Program at the Plant Breeding and Biotechnology Study Program, IPB Graduate School in 2012. Her areas of expertise are Plant Breeding and Mutation.
Diana Sofia Hanafiah's achievements include being awarded the Twenty-Fourth Best Paper Writer in the Accredited National Periodical Category at the National Seminar of the Indonesian Breeding Science Association (PERIPI) in Bogor in 2012. She also received the 10-year Satya Lancana Karya Satya Award from the President of Indonesia in 2014 and the 20-year Satyalancana Karya Satya Award from the President of Indonesia in 2020.
