Nurul Novelia Fuandila was born in Meulaboh, West Aceh, on September 25, 1994. In 2024, she graduated from the University of Montpellier in France with a degree in Ecology and Biodiversity. That same year, she worked as a junior researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in France. During her doctoral studies, she joined the Aquaculture, Biodiversity, and Health research unit (IRD Montpellier). She received a doctoral research grant from the French government (the France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship, 2019–2024).

In addition, he also received additional funding for research under the ARTS Program from the Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD) in Montpellier to conduct an in vivo study on carp production in Indonesia (2022). In 2017, he earned his Bachelor’s degree, and in 2019, his Master’s degree in Aquaculture Science from IPB University in Indonesia. During his master’s program, he received a thesis research grant from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (2018) and a scholarship for the fast-track program (a combined bachelor’s and master’s program) funded by IPB University (2015).

His current research focuses on microbial genomic diversity and evolutionary dynamics, as well as the evaluation of gene potential for use in disease prevention. He is actively engaged in research on sustainable aquaculture, fish biodiversity, and fish health in general. He has expertise in molecular biology, cell culture, and sequencing techniques. He is open to scientific collaboration on any topic. Specifically, his research topics relate to the molecular mechanisms and factors influencing the evolution of aquatic viruses.
