Vindy Rilani Manurung has been a lecturer in the Aquatic Resource Management Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) since 2020. She holds a Master’s degree in Fisheries from Universitas Brawijaya Malang, specializing in Fish Biology and Population Genetics.
She is actively engaged in research and community service, focusing on fish stock dynamics, DNA barcoding, and the exploitation rate of sharks and rays in North Sumatra waters. She has received the DRTPM Community Service Grant from 2022 to 2024, including the successful implementation of mangrove nursery techniques adopted by POKMASWAS in Serdang Bedagai.
In addition to her research, she has mentored students in various national competitions, such as PPK ORMAWA, the Student Creativity Program (PKM), and APRI Youth. Her research and community service findings are integrated into her teaching materials for courses such as Fish Biology, Aquatic Biological Resources, Fish Population Genetics, and Maritime Sociology.
