Students of the Undergraduate Program in Agrotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), Firman Frananta Sebayang (Student ID Number - 250301049), brought pride to his alma mater through achievements in various national and international Taekwondo championships.
In the competitions he participated in, Firman successfully achieved several outstanding accomplishments, namely Gold – Junior Kyorugi Male Middle and Gold – Junior Jumping Front Kick Male at the Malaysia Open 2026. At Ksatria Nusantara 2026, he won Bronze – Kyorugi Senior U-80 Men. Meanwhile, at the SUMUT National Taekwondo Championship 2026, Firman won Second Place in the Kyorugi Senior Men U-87 Kg category. Firman's achievements were earned through a series of championships held from April to June 2026, ranging from national-level to international competitions.

These achievements demonstrate that students of the Faculty of Agriculture USU not only have potential in academics but are also able to develop their abilities, talents, and achievements in non-academic fields. The perseverance, discipline, and competitive spirit demonstrated by Firman represent the positive qualities of a student who actively develops himself and brings pride to the university at the national and international levels.
This achievement also supports the commitment of Universitas Sumatera Utara to improving student achievements and developing student potential, including through the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) for higher education institutions, which encourage the development of outstanding and competitive graduates and students with experience and achievements in various fields.
From the perspective of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), achievements in sports also support SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being through the development of sports activities and healthy lifestyles. In addition, the comprehensive development of student potential is also in line with SDG 4: Quality Education, which emphasizes the importance of education that is not only oriented toward academic aspects but also toward the development of individual skills, character, and potential.
The Faculty of Agriculture USU expressed its appreciation for Firman's achievement. This achievement is expected to motivate other students to continue developing their potential and achieving accomplishments in both academic and non-academic fields, as well as to have the courage to bring the name of Universitas Sumatera Utara to a higher level.
