The MSP USU Alumni Gathering was held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Soeratman Hall and in a hybrid format via Zoom. The event carried the theme “Back to Campus and Connect the Future” and aimed to provide a platform for alumni to share their professional experiences, offering insights into the working world for attending students. The gathering was attended by MSP USU alumni from the 2009 to 2019 cohorts, active MSP USU students, MSP USU lecturers, administrative staff, and lecturers from the Faculty of Agriculture at USU.


The event was officially opened by the Head of the Study Program and the Chairperson of the MSP USU Alumni Association. It featured a sharing session with two presentations delivered by two speakers and moderated by a facilitator. The first presentation, titled “Workforce Absorption in the Field of Aquatic Resources Management,” was delivered by alumnus Romi Pindonta Tarigan, S.Pi. His presentation covered the scope of the MSP professional field, essential skills for the industry, and recommendations for curriculum improvements in the MSP USU study program.


The second presentation, titled “Back to Campus and Connect the Future,” was delivered by the Head of the MSP USU Study Program, Mrs. Desrita, S.Pi., M.Si. She highlighted the importance of communication, coordination, and integration between alumni and the university to support the advancement and development of the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program at USU.


In addition to the two speakers, all alumni were invited to share their recommendations for the study program’s development based on their individual backgrounds and experiences. This discussion was moderated by Mr. Nur Rohim, S.Pi., M.Si. The Alumni Gathering aimed to establish effective two-way communication between alumni and the university.
