Medan, August 20, 2026 — Students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), have once again achieved an impressive accomplishment. Representatives of the Undergraduate Program in Aquatic Resources Management (MSP) won 2nd Place in the Faculty Challenge competition at the “Indonesia Punya Kamu: Connecting Generation” event organized by Garuda TV.
The competition was part of the 2026 Universitas Sumatera Utara New Student Campus Life Orientation (PKKMB) series and was held on the third day of the PKKMB program.
The achievement was made possible through collaboration among students from various academic disciplines at Universitas Sumatera Utara. The team representing USU and the Faculty of Agriculture consisted of:

- Sadarta Barus (230403078) — Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering
- Felix Geraldine Siburian (230801039) — Undergraduate Program in Physics
- Hottua Fransischo Sihaloho (240803018) — Undergraduate Program in Mathematics
- Seryn Ulsi Nadeak (251301218) — Undergraduate Program in Psychology
This achievement demonstrates that cross-disciplinary collaboration is one of the strengths of students in addressing various challenges and achieving positive outcomes. The combination of expertise in aquatic resources management, engineering, physics, mathematics, and psychology contributed to building a creative and innovative team.

Beyond being a non-academic achievement, this accomplishment also reflects the students’ commitment to developing communication, teamwork, creativity, leadership, and problem-solving skills. These competencies are essential in preparing young people to contribute to sustainable development.
From the perspective of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this achievement aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education, particularly by supporting the development of students’ knowledge, skills, and potential through learning experiences beyond the classroom. It also supports SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through strengthened cross-disciplinary collaboration and teamwork toward shared objectives.
