Medan – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has once again recorded an achievement in research and technology downstreaming through a research team that received funding from the Expert Team for the 2026 Fiscal Year Pre-Feasibility Study under the Research Downstreaming Program – Technology Push for the 2026 Fiscal Year, organized by the Directorate General of Research and Development of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek RI).

The 2026 Funding (Batch 1) was awarded to a team led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Noverita Sprinse Vinolina, M.P., a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture USU, through an innovation entitled “Tri-Po: Biodecomposer Plus to Support Sustainable Agriculture.”

The development team consists of Prof. Dr. Ir. Noverita Sprinse Vinolina, M.P. (Faculty of Agriculture USU), Prof. Dr. Ritha F. Dalimunthe, S.E., M.Si. (Faculty of Economics and Business USU), Dr. Ir. Nurzainah Ginting, M.Sc. (Faculty of Agriculture USU), Prof. Dr. Nyoman Darmayasa, S.E., M.Ak., M.M., BKP., CA., CPMA., CPA., ASEAN CPA. (Bali State Polytechnic), and Dr. Robert, S.H., M.H. (Faculty of Law, USU).

The cross-disciplinary and cross-university collaboration is an important part of the development of the Tri-Po innovation as an effort to support the implementation of sustainable agriculture. Through this funding, the research results are expected to be further developed toward the downstream stage and provide broader benefits to society.

The development of this innovation supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).

This achievement is expected to further strengthen cross-disciplinary and cross-university research collaboration while encouraging the development of innovations oriented toward the utilization of technology and sustainable development.
