The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU) received a visit from PT. Angel Yeast Budi Indonesia on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, held in the Dean’s Meeting Room at FP USU. This visit marked an important momentum in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry.
PT. Angel Yeast Budi Indonesia is part of Angel Yeast, the second-largest yeast manufacturer globally and the largest in Asia. Founded in 1986 and listed on the A-share stock market in China since 2000, Angel Yeast now operates 14 factories across China and several production facilities in Egypt, Russia, and Algeria. Its fourth international factory is currently under construction in Indonesia in collaboration with the Sungai Budi Group in Lampung. Angel Yeast’s products are sold in more than 200 countries, with a global workforce of over 12,000 employees.
During the meeting, PT. Angel Yeast Budi Indonesia expressed its interest in collaborating with USU, particularly in campus recruitment programs. The company is currently offering various job openings and aims to recruit top graduates from USU for a range of strategic positions.
In addition to recruitment, the collaboration will also encompass internship opportunities, talent development, and other forms of partnership that support the career growth of USU students and alumni.
As an initial step, PT. Angel Yeast Budi Indonesia requested the university’s help in coordinating students and alumni who meet the qualifications to send their CVs in English. The CVs are expected to include their educational background, major, GPA, and English proficiency test results.
The Faculty of Agriculture, USU, welcomes this initiative as a concrete example of collaboration between academia and industry to prepare excellent, competent, and globally competitive graduates.
