SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Bidzratul Ilmi Tanjung Balai conducted an educational visit to the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Sumatera Utara by participating in an introduction to the academic environment and observing the Biotechnology Laboratory to broaden students’ knowledge in molecular genetics and tissue culture.

The Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Sumatera Utara welcomed an educational visit from SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Bidzratul Ilmi on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM WIB. The activities took place in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Agriculture USU and the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture USU.

The visit was warmly received by the leadership and academic community of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, including Dr. Nini Rahmawati, S.P., M.Si. as Vice Dean I, Prof. Luthfi Aziz Mahmud Siregar, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D. as Vice Dean II, Hafnes Wahyuni, S.P., M.P. as Academic Affairs Expert Staff to the Vice Dean I, Vindy Rilani Manurung, S.Pi., M.P. as Student Affairs Expert Staff to the Vice Dean I, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Yaya Hasanah, M.Si. as Secretary of the Undergraduate Agrotechnology Study Program.

The activity began with a welcoming session for the students, principal, teachers, and staff members of SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Bidzratul Ilmi in the Meeting Room on the second floor of the Main Building of the Faculty of Agriculture USU. In a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere, participants received information about the academic environment, study programs, and educational facilities available at the Faculty of Agriculture USU.

Following the welcoming session, the activity continued with a visit to the Plant Biotechnology Laboratory. During the visit, students were introduced to various laboratory instruments used in molecular genetics and tissue culture. In addition, they gained insights into the application of biotechnology in the development of modern agricultural science.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Sumatera Utara hopes to provide an educational experience while fostering young generations’ interest in agriculture, science, and biotechnology-based technology.
