The Faculty of Agriculture USU and the Faculty of Engineering USU have established a strategic partnership with PTPN IV to accelerate the commercialization of research outcomes. This collaboration aims to transform research-based innovations and technologies into practical solutions that support industrial advancement and sustainable agricultural development.

Medan, June 13, 2026 – The Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), together with the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Sumatera Utara, has established a strategic partnership with PTPN IV to promote the commercialization and industrial application of research outcomes. This collaboration represents a concrete effort to strengthen the synergy between academia and industry in producing innovations that deliver tangible benefits to society and national development.

The partnership focuses on utilizing research findings and technological innovations developed by lecturers and students, enabling their broader implementation within the industrial sector, particularly in agriculture and agroindustry. Through research commercialization, innovations generated within the university are expected to address industry challenges while enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s agricultural sector.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., and the Secretary of the Master’s Program in Agrotechnology, Prof. Dr. Mariani Br. Sembiring, S.P., M.P., along with representatives from the Faculty of Engineering USU and PTPN IV.

The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture USU emphasized that partnerships between higher education institutions and industry play a crucial role in accelerating the transformation of research outcomes into applicable technologies and solutions. Through this collaboration, research results are expected not only to contribute to scientific publications but also to be developed into products, technologies, and business models that create added value for industry and society.

The collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture USU, the Faculty of Engineering USU, and PTPN IV reflects a shared commitment to advancing research-based innovation and supporting sustainable agricultural development.
