Medan, July 2, 2026 – The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a coordination meeting to finalize preparations for the upcoming semester of the Agrotechnology and Aquatic Resources Management (MSP) Study Programs at the Off-Campus Study Program (PSDKU) in North Nias Regency.
The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and attended by the Vice Dean I, the Heads and Secretaries of the Agrotechnology and Aquatic Resources Management Study Programs, the Secretary of the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program at the North Nias Regency PSDKU, and the Coordinator of the North Nias Regency PSDKU, Hasambua Harefa, who also serves as the Head of the North Nias Regency Tourism and Culture Office.
Discussions covered several strategic aspects of the upcoming semester, including the budget plan for academic operations, faculty assignments, course scheduling, and the enhancement of academic support services to ensure that the learning process is conducted effectively and in accordance with Universitas Sumatera Utara's quality standards.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture emphasized that the development of the PSDKU is part of the university's commitment to expanding access to quality higher education while supporting regional human resource development.
In line with this, Hasambua Harefa expressed appreciation for USU's commitment to developing the PSDKU and reaffirmed the North Nias Regency Government's support for the program's sustainability as an initiative to produce highly competent and competitive human resources.
Through the synergy between the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and the North Nias Regency Government, it is expected that the implementation of the new semester at the North Nias Regency PSDKU will run optimally and further strengthen its role as a center for higher education development, contributing to the advancement of the agriculture and fisheries sectors as well as regional development.
