The 2023 Semirata BKS PTN Wilayah Barat in Agricultural Sciences was hosted by Universitas Tanjungpura, Pontianak, from September 6 to 12, 2023. As part of the event, a visit was conducted to Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
During the visit to UMS, a Letter of Intent (LoI) was signed between the Chairperson of BKS PTN Wilayah Barat in Agricultural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samadi, M.Sc., and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) of Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Professor Dr. Shahril Yusof. In addition, an Implementation Agreement (IA) was signed between the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Future collaboration agreements at both faculty and university levels are also planned.
The event was attended by delegates from all participants of BKS PTN Wilayah Barat in Agricultural Sciences. Delegates from Universitas Sumatera Utara and USU’s Faculty of Agriculture included Prof. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, MS. (Dean of FP USU), Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si. (Vice Dean III of FP USU), and Dr. Nini Rahmawati, S.P., M.Si. (Head of the Undergraduate Program in Agrotechnology).
It is hoped that the signing of the LoI and IA will lead to more collaborative opportunities between USU’s Faculty of Agriculture and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), contributing to advancements in agricultural sciences..png)
