The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), received an educational visit from SMA Plus Taruna Satya on Wednesday (28 January 2026) at the Suratman Hall of FP USU, as part of efforts to introduce students to the academic environment, study programs, and learning facilities at an early stage.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, welcomed an educational visit from SMA Plus Taruna Satya on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, held at the Suratman Hall, FP USU. The visit was attended by 56 students and 6 teachers, accompanied by the Principal of SMA Plus Taruna Satya, Mrs. Dewi Desiyanti, S.Pd., M.S.

 

Also present at the event were the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si.; the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science, Dr. Ir. Ma'ruf Tafsin, M.Si., IPM; the Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science, Ir. Achmad Sadeli, S.Pt., M.Sc., IPM., ASEAN Eng.; the Head of the Cooperation Subdivision, Yustika Venawati; as well as members of the Dean’s Expert Staff.

 

In her welcoming remarks, Prof. Elisa Julianti expressed her hope that the visit would broaden students’ perspectives, knowledge, and interest in the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara.

 

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMA Plus Taruna Satya, Mrs. Dewi Desiyanti, conveyed her appreciation for the warm reception, stating that the visit was expected to provide students with new insights into the Faculty of Agriculture USU and encourage them to pursue higher education at public universities, including Universitas Sumatera Utara.

 

The visit also included guided tours of various learning facilities at the Faculty of Agriculture USU, such as the International Classrooms, Food Microbiology Laboratory, Food Chemical and Biochemical Analysis Laboratory, Greenhouse, and Closed House facilities.

The series of activities concluded with a token exchange between SMA Plus Taruna Satya and the Faculty of Agriculture, symbolizing the strengthening of educational relations between the two institutions.
