The Animal Husbandry and Agribusiness Study Program of the USU Faculty of Agriculture conducted a field trip to PT Eldira Fauna Asahan located in Hessa Air Genting Village, Air Batu, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra on May 25, 2024.
This activity was carried out in the context of field studies in the Beef Cattle Production and Work and Livestock Fattening Technology / Feedlot courses. There were 250 field trip participants, consisting of students, practicum assistants, and lecturers. The field trip participants did not only come from students of the Animal Husbandry Study Program but also from students of the Agribusiness Study Program of FP USU.
The field trip participants were warmly welcomed by Mr. Apollo Gultom, as General Manager of PT Eldira Fauna Asahan. The students participating in the field trip were invited to tour cage units ranging from cattle, buffalo, and sheep goats to the feedmill section of the company. This field trip activity ended with a discussion session, souvenirs, and group photos.
