Medan, September 22, 2026 – The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), established cooperation with PT Keloria Moringa Jaya through the Integrated Technology Transfer-Based Research Downstreaming scheme. The cooperation was formalized through a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) concerning “Formulation and Downstreaming of Ready-to-Drink Tea from Batik Cultivar Chrysanthemum to Support the Commercialization of National Functional Food Products.”

The signing of the Cooperation Agreement took place at the Meeting Room of the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, Medan, on Tuesday (September 22, 2026). The Faculty of Agriculture USU was represented by Dean Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., while PT Keloria Moringa Jaya was represented by General Manager Syahrani Devi, S.P., M.I.Kom., CAC.

This cooperation aims to encourage the utilization of research outcomes and higher education expertise so that they can be developed into products with added value and commercialization potential. Through the program, Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si., a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Agriculture, USU, has developed an exclusive formulation and composition for Ready-to-Drink (RTD) Batik Cultivar Chrysanthemum Flower Tea.

PT Keloria Moringa Jaya plays a role in supporting the manufacturing process through its technical capabilities, production facilities, and business licenses. Both parties have agreed to optimize their respective resources to support mass production and the downstreaming of research outcomes with a clear division of responsibilities.

Through this cooperation, the Faculty of Agriculture USU and PT Keloria Moringa Jaya strengthen the synergy between higher education institutions and the business sector in promoting the utilization of research outcomes into functional food products. This initiative is in line with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through the development and downstreaming of innovation, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between higher education institutions and the business sector.
