The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a workshop on the management of indexed national journals and reputable international journals to enhance journal accreditation and reputation.

Journals are one of the platforms used by the academic community to disseminate research or community service results that have been conducted. Moreover, publishing in journals is also a requirement for graduation at certain educational levels and for the promotion of lecturers/researchers. It is important to note that journals used for graduation or promotion purposes must be reputable/accredited.


Held at the DH Penny Building, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, the Faculty of Agriculture organized a Workshop on the Management of Indexed National Journals and Reputable International Journals (Tuesday, May 17, 2022). The speakers at this workshop included Dr. Apri Heri Iswanto, S.Hut., M.Si. (Faculty of Forestry, USU), Riantri Barus, S.P., M.Si., M.P. (Faculty of Agriculture, USU), Sony Eka Nugraha, S.Farm., M.Si., Apt. (Faculty of Pharmacy, USU), and Novinda Amy, S.Kom. (USU Information Systems Center).


This workshop was held for all journal managers within the Faculty of Agriculture. To date, there are six journals at FP USU: Indonesian Journal of Agricultural Research (Injar), Jurnal Pertanian Tropik, Jurnal Rekayasa Pangan dan Pertanian, Jurnal Online Agroteknologi, Jurnal Peternakan Integratif, and Jurnal Aquacoastmarine. In his remarks, the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture USU for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation hoped that, after this workshop, all journal managers would be able to apply the tips and steps shared by the speakers, so that the accreditation and reputation of the journals in FP USU could improve in the future.
