Medan – FP USU: The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU) held a debriefing and discussion with participants of the 50th World Friends Korea (WFK) Youth Volunteer Program – Indonesia on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
This activity was part of a series of programs held from July 27–August 9, 2026, involving Korean students and FP USU students in academic activities, cultural exchange, volunteer activities, and environmental education.
As part of the program series, Korean students carried out field activities in Takengon, Aceh, accompanied by and collaborating with FP USU students. Various activities were conducted, including education on climate change and sustainable agriculture, village clean-up, tree planting, visits to cooperatives and farmers' homes, as well as cultural exchange activities with local communities and students.
Through the debriefing and discussion, participants shared experiences, knowledge, and lessons learned during the series of activities, particularly from the implementation of field activities in Takengon. This activity also served as a space to strengthen relationships and knowledge exchange between Korean and Indonesian students.
As part of the cultural exchange, the activity concluded with an entertainment performance in the form of a dance by Korean students. The performance served as a means of introducing Korean culture to the academic community of the Faculty of Agriculture USU while also strengthening interaction and friendship between Korean and Indonesian students.
This collaboration was part of the cooperation between Kijami Table Co., Ltd. and Universitas Sumatera Utara in supporting student exchange, volunteer activities, as well as increasing awareness of climate change and environmental issues.
This activity supports the achievement of SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through cross-cultural learning, environmental action, volunteer activities, and strengthening international partnerships.
