On Friday, October 27, 2023, a guest lecture was held by the Master’s Program in Agrotechnology at the D.H. Penny Building, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara. The guest lecture was titled "Optimizing the Crop Yield Through Crop Protection Technology." The speaker for this event was Dr. Ir. Askif Pasaribu, M.P., the APAC R&D Category Lead at PT. UPL Indonesia.

The event was opened by the Vice Dean 1 of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Lisnawita, S.P., M.Si., and attended by the Head of the Master’s Program in Agrotechnology , the Secretary of the Master’s Program in Agrotechnology , faculty members, and both undergraduate and graduate students from the Agrotechnology program. The total number of participants at this guest lecture was approximately 50.


In her opening remarks, the Vice Dean 1 stated, "In crop production, efforts to protect crops are essential. This guest lecture is expected to help increase the participants' knowledge about crop protection in order to contribute to food security."
