"I sincerely apologize to everyone. Let us forgive one another, as there may have been friction in the course of our daily duties and work. May we continue to work with greater enthusiasm and harmony in the future. Once again, I wish you all a blessed Eid al-Fitr. Please accept my heartfelt apologies,” expressed Prof. Tavi.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held its Halal Bi Halal gathering on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Suratman Hall, Faculty of Agriculture USU.

The event was attended by the Dean, Vice Deans, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, lecturers, and administrative staff from the Faculty of Agriculture. The program began with remarks from Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosmayati, MS, representing the faculty members and also serving as Chair of the Faculty Senate, followed by a speech from Mr. Fitriono, representing the administrative staff, and continued with a speech by Prof. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, MS, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture.

In her address, Prof. Rosmayati mentioned that she was not yet familiar with many of the newly joined lecturers and staff. She expressed her hope that this event would foster stronger bonds among members of the academic community and entrusted high hopes to the younger generation in advancing the faculty in the future.

"I may not know many of the young lecturers and staff present here today, but I sincerely hope that you will become the driving force behind the Faculty of Agriculture’s progress. May we take this opportunity in 2025 to improve what needs to be improved and move forward together toward a better direction," she stated.

Representing the administrative staff, Mr. Fitriono highlighted the importance of the Halal Bi Halal event in improving communication, which may have been limited due to daily work routines.

"Although we see each other almost every day, our interaction and communication remain limited due to our individual workloads. This Halal Bi Halal is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other better and strengthen our bonds," he explained.

In her speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture also conveyed her hope that the event would serve as a moment for mutual forgiveness among all members of the academic community at FP USU.

"As we are still in the month of Syawal, I realize that in the course of our communication, there may have been mistakes or things that were less pleasing. That is why this Halal Bi Halal is such an important moment—a time for us to forgive each other. I personally acknowledge that at times there have been miscommunications, whether in terms of management or in how messages were conveyed—toward the Vice Deans, Lecturers, Expert Staff, or administrative personnel—which may have caused discomfort. Therefore, I sincerely apologize to everyone. Let us forgive one another, as friction can happen during the course of daily tasks and responsibilities. I hope that going forward, we can work more passionately and harmoniously. Once again, I wish you all a blessed Eid al-Fitr. Please accept my sincere apologies," said Prof. Tavi.

The event concluded with a handshake session and a shared lunch. It is hoped that this Halal Bi Halal moment will serve as a warm gathering that strengthens the sense of togetherness and fosters stronger relationships among all members of the academic community at the Faculty of Agriculture, USU.
