The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), welcomed a visit from the BITRA Indonesia Foundation on April 28, 2025, held at the Dean’s Meeting Room, Faculty of Agriculture USU.

BITRA Indonesia Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 1986 and based in Medan. The organization runs various assistance and empowerment programs for communities, especially farmers and other marginalized groups, across 11 regencies/cities in the North Sumatra and Aceh regions. Its activities focus on rural issues, organic farming, climate-friendly agriculture, environmental sustainability, and climate change.

The delegation from BITRA Indonesia was received by Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si., Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, along with the Head of the Cooperation Subdivision and expert staff.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss a potential collaboration between BITRA Indonesia and the Faculty of Agriculture USU. The planned cooperation will cover the areas of education, research, and community service.

It is hoped that this collaboration can be realized soon and bring mutual benefits to both parties through its implementation.
