In this meeting, there are two important points agreed between the USU Faculty of Agriculture and Lapakbuah.com, namely program exploration activities, which are related to the Farmer Partner Concept at Lapakbuah.com E-Com, including Farmer Investment Partner Activities.

According to information from the USU Faculty of Agriculture, there is a Lecturer Research Program with a budget of 30 million / Research Lecturer. Following up on this, Mrs. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana will invite other Research Lecturers to be able to invest in farmers who register online at Lapakbuah.com Investment Partner activities and have been verified/analyzed by a joint team formed by Lapakbuah.com and the USU Faculty of Agriculture.

Later, this activity will also involve POKTAN, PPL, and the local village head, where there will be product development trials which include the cultivation of melons, watermelons, cabbage vegetables, carrots, chilies, tomatoes, and other horticultural commodities that have a harvest period of 3 - 4 months.

After the trial of the above activities is successful, the USU Faculty of Agriculture will recommend the INVESTMENT PARTNERS Program scheme through LapakBuah.com to the community.

The input from Mrs. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, so that investment funds from investors are disbursed not in cash, but in the form of quality seeds, fertilizers and medicines as well as labor costs. Then there will also be routine visits and Progress Reports to Investors.

Another thing that was discussed was the hope that Lapakbuah.com could also help market the agricultural products.

Student Involvement

In addition, Mrs. Dean and Mr. Vice Dean 2, Mr. Refendy Damanik, warmly welcomed the proposal from the Lapakbuah.com team to directly involve students of the USU Faculty of Agriculture as Dropshipper or Re-Seller in terms of selling products from Lapakbuah.com, with product categories: Nusantara Fruit, Vegetables & Spices, Rhizomes & Spices, Seedlings & Grafting, Tambulapot, Fertilizers, Medicines, etc.

According to the plan in the second week of October 2021, an FGD (Focus Group Discussion) will be held between the USU Faculty of Agriculture with 6 Heads of Study Programs (which, according to the plan, will be inaugurated on October 1, 2021) together with the Team from Lapakbuah.com to discuss the important points above through the online meeting application.

Fruit Village Program in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

The plans for 6 villages that will be used as agro business areas include Liang Pematang Village, Liang Muda, Tanjung Muda, Tanjung Raja, Durian Tinggung & Bah Buntu Village in STM HULU District - DELI SERDANG Regency. For this activity, the Lapakbuah.com Team, previously with Dr. Syahrir as the USU Assisted Village Program Coordinator, had discussed it with Prof. Tinus (Chairman of LPPM USU) to be able to increase cooperation at the District level. Lapakbuah.com also expects the involvement of the USU Faculty of Agriculture to be more dominant in handling the Kampung Buah Program.

There are 2 main community programs that were welcomed by the USU Faculty of Agriculture, namely, the LENGTH & ALPUKAT CULTURE Program and HORTICULTURE as Intercrops (Intercropping), where USU will involve 5 Study Programs to take an active role. As well as the AGRICULTURE RESULTS PROCESSING INDUSTRY Program.

In this meeting, it was agreed to explore the proposed Production Process to get added value from community agricultural products, which include:
1. Sweet Corn cultivation to Frozen Food products for self-service & export.
2. Ginger production process into ready-to-sell Ginger flour for domestic and overseas, in the form of packaging.
3. Salak fruit processing to become Jam Bread, Sweets, Juice, etc.
4. Processing kepok banana, etc.

Following up on the two community programs above, the Dean and Vice Dean of the USU Faculty of Agriculture, together with the Rector and USU Campus Ranks, will soon conduct a field visit to the LapakBuah.com assisted garden and review 6 village locations that will become the Integrated Fruit Village Program which according to the plan will be carried out on September 3, 2021.

Hopefully, all programs that have been conceptualized and planned together with the largest university in North Sumatra will be able to provide maximum benefits for farmers and the world of Indonesian agriculture in general.
