LIPIHKI serves as an academic support unit that facilitates and promotes the increase in quantity and quality of publications in reputable scientific journals, both nationally and internationally, while also assisting in the management of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) (lipihki.usu.ac.id).

Prof. Dr. Erman Munir, M.Sc., Head of LIPIHKI USU, addressed the current low number of scientific publications and citations by USU lecturers. As a facilitator, LIPIHKI aims to provide support to lecturers in enhancing the quality and quantity of scientific publications recognized at the national and international levels and equipped with IPR. LIPIHKI offers services such as consultations and mentoring for writing scientific articles.
"For Faculty of Agriculture lecturers with new superior plant varieties ready for release, it is advisable to immediately register them to obtain IPR," explained Dr. Irwana Nainggolan, M.Sc., during her presentation.
One of the lecturers from the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Diana Sofia Hanafiah, S.P., M.P., expressed her hope for support and assistance from LIPIHKI USU to officially certify her newly developed superior plant variety.
The socialization event proceeded smoothly with active participation from all attendees. It is hoped that this socialization will motivate lecturers in the Faculty of Agriculture to consistently produce Scopus-indexed scientific publications and secure IPR.
