The inauguration of the Erwin Nasution Building at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, took place on Friday, April 1, 2022, officiated by Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. (Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara) and Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, S.E., M.M. (Mayor of Medan). The event, held at the forecourt of the Erwin Nasution Building, was attended by vice rectors, deans, the university secretary, vice deans of the Faculty of Agriculture, members of the Faculty of Agriculture’s academic community, and alumni of the Faculty of Agriculture, USU.
The event began with a speech by the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, followed by remarks from the Mayor of Medan. The Erwin Nasution Building serves as the Graduate School building located in the Faculty of Agriculture complex. It is named after Ir. H. Erwin Nasution, the President Director of PTPN IV from 2012 to 2016, an alumnus of the Faculty of Agriculture, and the father of Medan Mayor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, S.E., M.M.
The ceremony continued with the signing of a commemorative plaque and a ribbon-cutting by the Mayor of Medan and the Rector of USU. This was followed by a tour of the Erwin Nasution Building with alumni and members of the Faculty of Agriculture’s academic community. The event, which ran from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, concluded with a friendly gathering between alumni and the Faculty of Agriculture’s academic community.
