Friday, May 31, 2024, a public lecture was held by the USU Agrotechnology Master Study Program at the D.H. Penny Building, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara. This public lecture carries the theme "The Role of Plant Breeding in Increasing Productivity and Quality of Horticultural Products." The resource person at this public lecture was Prof. Dr. Muhammad Syukur, S.P., M.Si., a lecturer from the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Institut Pertanian Bogor.
The event was opened by the Head of the USU Agrotechnology Master Program, Prof. Luthfi Aziz Mahmud Siregar, S.P., M.Sc, Ph.D. The event was also attended by the Secretary of the Agrotechnology Master Program, the Secretary of the Agricultural Science Doctoral Program, lecturers, and students of the USU Agrotechnology Master Program.
This public lecture is expected to increase the knowledge of public lecture participants about horticultural plant breeding, which will in turn increase the productivity and quality of horticultural products.
