Medan – FP USU: The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PT. Charoen Pokphand and the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Sumatera Utara took place at the Faculty of Agriculture USU on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
The event began with remarks from the Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., and the President Director of PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, who also serves as the Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Foundation Indonesia, Dr. (HC) Tjiu Thomas Effendy, S.E., MBA. The event continued with the signing of the MoU, MoA, a scholarship cooperation agreement, and a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the donation of a closed house broiler facility.
"USU greatly appreciates what PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia has done in supporting education in Indonesia through collaboration programs that help advance higher education," stated Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., the Rector of USU.
He further added, "In facing these challenges, USU continues to improve in preparing the future of its graduates for Indonesia. Therefore, collaboration with CPI becomes strategic because CPI shares the same vision and possesses the resources to create a conducive environment for higher education."
Responding to the Rector's remarks, the President Director of PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, Tjiu Thomas Effendy, expressed his respect for USU. He said, "This is a great honor for PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, and it will be recorded in the history books of PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia."
"Over time, PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia has continued to expand its business in the poultry sector. We ask for USU's prayers and support so that PT. CPI can continue to grow and dedicate its business to the nation and Indonesian society. On this occasion, PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia also thanks USU for the opportunity to participate in education at USU by providing learning facilities such as scholarships, educational funds, teaching farms, and a closed house for poultry learning for USU students," he concluded.
