Medan – FP USU: The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the development of a donated closed house broiler facility by PT. Charoen Pokphand to the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Sumatera Utara took place on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk is the largest producer of animal feed, day-old chicks (DOC), and processed food in Indonesia. Established in 1972, its first and largest feed mill was located in Jakarta (Ancol). Additional feed mill branches are located in Balaraja, Medan, Bandar Lampung, Semarang, Sepanjang, Krian, and Makassar.
This signing marks a significant milestone in the construction of the donated closed house broiler facility. The facility will not only function as a broiler chicken production site but also serve as a learning space for students and a platform for supporting the university’s tridharma activities.
PT. Charoen Pokphand expressed pride in collaborating with Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), one of Indonesia’s oldest universities. “In the future, new breakthroughs are needed to advance the nation through the collaboration between USU and CPI. It is our pride to contribute to Indonesia together with USU,” stated a representative from PT. Charoen Pokphand.
The President Director of PT. Charoen Pokphand, Tjiu Thomas Effendy, emphasized that this collaboration is a strategic step for both the Faculty of Agriculture at USU and the industrial sector. “Universities and industries can develop well through mutual contributions and the exchange of information between both parties. Therefore, this collaboration is a crucial step in building synergy between education and industry,” he concluded.
