Medan – FP USU: Located at the DH Penny Seminar Hall, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, the Fish Quarantine, Quality Control, and Fishery Product Safety Station (SKIPM) Medan II established a partnership with the Faculty of Agriculture on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. This collaboration aims to strengthen efforts in maintaining the quality, standard, and safety of fishery products while also supporting the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. In addition to supporting MBKM, the partnership also seeks to enhance the quality of human resources in higher education through collaboration with partners in education, research, and community service.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, M.S., expressed hope that this collaboration would increase academic learning capacity. "I hope there will be a transfer of knowledge and experience between academics and practitioners. Therefore, collaboration with BKIPM is one of the efforts to achieve this, especially in the field of fish health, quality, and fishery product safety," said the Dean.

As part of this event, a public lecture was also held with the theme "The Role of BKIPM in Supporting the Welfare of the Fisheries Community." The speaker for this lecture was the Acting Head of the Fish Quarantine, Quality Control, and Fishery Product Safety Agency, Ir. Hari Maryadi, M.Si., and the session was moderated by the Head of SKIPM Medan II, Sondang Sitorus, S.Si., M.Si. The public lecture was conducted in a hybrid format, both offline at the DH Penny Seminar Hall, Faculty of Agriculture, and online via Zoom Meeting. At the end of the session, BKIPM distributed door prizes to participants with the best questions.
