The event included presentations on the MASMA Constitution, ORMAWA Law, and PEMIRA Law, as well as a session on “The Role of Organizations in the Workplace” by the Dean of the Faculty. The event aimed to foster democratic spirit and student leadership within the university.
Following the conclusion of the 2025 Ruang Suara activities, the Student Organizations (ORMAWA) of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a Socialization of the Congress of the Student Community (MASMA) Results and a Talk Show on Wednesday, May 6, 2025. The event took place at the Suratman Hall, Faculty of Agriculture USU.
The event opened with remarks from M. Fachriza Alfi Hamdi (Chairperson of DPM FP USU), M. Rofiqul Firdaus Siregar (President of BEM FP USU), Muzammil Ihsan (President of BEM USU), and Prof. Dr. Lisnawita, S.P., M.Si. (Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Agriculture). It was attended by students representing the faculty's BEM, DPM, student associations, student activity units, and study groups.
The event continued with the official closing of the Faculty of Agriculture Student Community Congress, followed by the socialization of the MASMA Constitution, the ORMAWA Law, and the PEMIRA Law of FP USU. To enliven the atmosphere, the program also featured a vocal solo performance by a student.
After a short break, the second session began with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, MS. (Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture USU), who served as the keynote speaker. His talk, titled "The Role of Organizations in the Workplace," was moderated by Nursa’adah, S.ST., M.Agr. (Lecturer at FP USU).
In his presentation, Prof. Tavi explained that the term “organization” comes from the Latin word meaning “tool.” Thus, an organization can be understood as a consciously formed social unit designed to achieve specific goals more effectively and efficiently. This is made possible through collaboration among individuals. Cooperation is essential, as humans are inherently social beings who cannot live or accomplish things alone.
The event became even more engaging with a talk show on “Campus Political Dynamics” featuring three inspiring speakers: Putrama Alkhairi (Chairperson of HMI FP USU Chapter), Kevin Wibowo Simanjuntak (Chairperson of GMKI FP USU Chapter), and Muhammad Abdullah Praja (Chairperson of Kammi Nusantara USU).
The talk show highlighted the important role student organizations play in promoting democracy on campus. These organizations hold a strategic position in building an ecosystem that fosters healthy political participation among students. By creating a positive, open, and educational competitive environment, elections become not only a selection process but also a valuable space for learning and personal growth for future student leaders. Therefore, this activity not only facilitates elections but also reinforces democratic values, fosters a sense of community, and enhances students’ commitment to their organizations and the future of their campus.
It is hoped that Ruang Suara will continue to serve as a platform for nurturing visionary, high-integrity young leaders capable of driving constructive change at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
