Inauguration of the Closed House Teaching Farm donated by PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia to FP USU's Animal Husbandry Program, advancing education and research, June 27, 2023.

Congratulations on the successful inauguration of the Closed House Teaching Farm, a donation from PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia to the Animal Husbandry Program of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, on June 27, 2023.


This event was attended by:

  • President Director of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, Dr. (HC) Tjiu Thomas Effendy, S.E., MBA.
  • Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si.
  • Regional Secretary of Medan City, Ir. Wiriya Alrahman, M.M.
  • Regent of South Tapanuli, Dolly Putra Parlindungan Pasaribu, S.Pt., M.M.
  • Head of the Plantation and Livestock Office of North Sumatra Province, Ir. Lies Handayani Siregar, M.MA.
  • Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, M.S.
  • Representatives from PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia and the academic community of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara.


The donation of the Closed House is intended to serve as a teaching farm facility for poultry farming, a platform for research and development, a medium for applying scientific knowledge, and a miniature business model.


The inauguration plaque for the Closed House of the Animal Husbandry Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, was signed by the President Director of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia and the Rector of USU. The handover ceremony document was signed by the Regional Head of North Sumatra (Drh. Bambang Sutrasno) and the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, USU (Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, M.S.).


During the event, scholarships were also awarded by the Secretary-General of Charoen Pokphand Foundation Indonesia, Andi Magdalena Siadari, S.H., M.H., to students of the Animal Husbandry Program of FP USU as an appreciation and motivation for their academic achievements.


The event concluded with a visit to the Closed House by the Dean of FP USU, the Rector of USU, the President Director of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, and the Regional Secretary of Medan City.
