The SOP Creation and Soft Skill Training for educational staff at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, was successfully held. Participants were trained by experts from USU's Faculty of Psychology to enhance their skills and teamwork.

Medan – FP USU: The SOP Creation and Soft Skill Training for the educational staff at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, was held directly at the Meeting Room of the Main Building, Faculty of Agriculture (Tuesday, October 18, 2022).


The event began with a welcome speech and official opening by the Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Revandy I. M. Damanik, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., who invited two speakers from the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Sumatera Utara.


The event was attended by all educational staff at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara. During the session, the speakers provided explanations and guidance on preparing job descriptions and developing SOPs for the tasks carried out by the educational staff of the Faculty of Agriculture.


The first speaker was Fahmi Ananda, M.Psi., Psychologist, the Head of the Community Service Center (P3M) at the Faculty of Psychology USU and also a lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology. He delivered a presentation on "SOP Preparation and Job Evaluation."


The second speaker was Dr. Abdhy Aulia Adnans, SP., MM., a lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology. He gave a talk on "Teamwork."


In the second session, participants were divided into 3 groups and tasked with solving and analyzing various words from a single word problem. From the group formation, it was concluded how important a team is. A good team produces better synergy.


Working with a team leads to quicker problem-solving, increased productivity (synergy), workload distribution, diverse ideas, better decision-making, mutual motivation, and mutual learning.


“There is no ‘I’ in a team, my partner is my friend, a solid team opens opportunities to success.” This was the closing quote from Dr. Abdhy, the second speaker at the training. The educational staff appeared very enthusiastic throughout the training. The interactive Q&A session and group tasks motivated the staff to delve deeper and solidify the knowledge provided by both speakers.


The event concluded with a closing speech by Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Revandy I. M. Damanik, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., representing the Head of Administration of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Ahmad Faizul, SE., M.Si., followed by a group photo session.
