Medan – FP USU: A workshop on preparing textbooks, teaching modules, and learning materials was successfully held in a hybrid format at the DH. Penny Seminar Room (Thursday, November 3, 2022).


The event began with a welcoming speech and the official opening by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Lisnawita, S.P., M.Si. The training featured three distinguished speakers, each an expert in their respective fields.


The first session was presented by Dr. Dra. Ir. Chairani Hanum, M.S., a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture. She delivered material under the theme “Preparation of Printed Textbooks”. The session was moderated by Hafnes Wahyuni, S.P., M.P., also a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture.


The second session featured Dr. Muhammad Taufik, S.Si., M.Si., a lecturer from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He presented the theme “Preparation of Teaching Modules”. The session was moderated by Peni Patriani, S.Pt., M.P., a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture.


The third session began with a presentation by Dr. Ir. Bejo Slamet, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM, a lecturer from the Faculty of Forestry. He discussed “Preparation of Microsite-Based Learning Materials”. The session was moderated by Rahmatika Alfi, S.P., M.Si., a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture.


This workshop was enthusiastically attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Agriculture, USU. Participants were guided in detail through the technical aspects of preparing textbooks, modules, and learning materials by highly experienced speakers. Moreover, each workshop session included opportunities for discussion and Q&A with the speakers, conducted both online and offline in the DH. Penny Seminar Room.


The event concluded with a closing speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, M.S. In her remarks, she expressed her hope that participants would be able to create and upload textbooks, modules, and learning materials to the applications introduced during the workshop, in addition to the e-learning platform already implemented at Universitas Sumatera Utara. It is hoped that this workshop will lead to educational works that significantly benefit students.
