The Faculty of Agriculture USU held the 2022 PKM Workshop and Competition to prepare students for the 2023 PIMNAS. The goal is to have more student proposals qualify for the national competition.

The Workshop and Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) Competition of the Faculty of Agriculture USU 2022 was successfully held in a hybrid format at the DH Penny Seminar Room (Saturday, November 26, 2022).

The event began with an opening speech by Dr. Lisnawita, SP., M.Si., the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Agriculture. The training was delivered by experts in the Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) to prepare students for the 2023 PKM. The program remains open for students to submit their proposals, and those who have already submitted can make revisions for the competition in 2023.

In the first session, the material was presented by Dr. Ir. Emmy Harso Kardhinata, M.Sc., a lecturer from the Faculty of Agriculture USU. The workshop and competition were held with great enthusiasm by the participants, who were students from the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Sumatera Utara, both as participants and prospective competition entrants. In this workshop, participants were taught all the steps needed to prepare and implement a PKM proposal. It is hoped that the proposals created can compete in the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS). During each session, participants were also given opportunities to discuss and ask questions to the speakers, both online and offline in the DH Penny Seminar Room.

At the end of the event, the workshop was closed with closing remarks by Dr. Lisnawita, SP., M.Si., Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Agriculture. The Vice Dean I hopes that the knowledge gained from this workshop can be applied by students in the PKM proposals they will write. By starting the preparation earlier, students and their PKM supervisors will have sufficient time to prepare high-quality proposals for competition at the university level and the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS).

A total of 58 proposals participated in the competition, with the following categories:

  • PKM RE (Exact Science Research): 9 proposals
  • PKM K (Entrepreneurship): 42 proposals
