The Undergraduate Program in Animal Science and the Master's Program in Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, will hold a Public Lecture with the theme “Dairy Cattle in Sustainable Production Systems: Productivity, Adaptation, Efficiency, and Environment” on Monday, October 5, 2026, online via Zoom Meeting.
The Undergraduate Program in Animal Science and the Master's Program in Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), will hold a Public Lecture with the theme “Dairy Cattle in Sustainable Production Systems: Productivity, Adaptation, Efficiency, and Environment.”
The activity will feature Dr. Windi Al Zahra, S.Pt., M.Si., Lecturer in Animal Production and Technology, Faculty of Animal Science, IPB University, as the speaker. Meanwhile, the activity will be moderated by Uswatun Hasanah, S.Pt., M.Si., Lecturer of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture USU.
This public lecture will discuss the development of dairy cattle production systems that can increase productivity while considering aspects of adaptation, resource-use efficiency, and environmental sustainability. The discussion is expected to broaden participants' insights into the challenges and opportunities in developing resilient and sustainable dairy cattle production systems.

This public lecture is open to students, academics, practitioners, and the general public who are interested in the development of animal husbandry and sustainable food production systems.
This activity also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through the development of productive and sustainable livestock-based food production, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through the implementation of efficient and responsible livestock production, and SDG 13 (Climate Action) through increasing understanding of adaptation and environmental impact management in livestock production systems.
Through this activity, participants are expected to gain a broader understanding of the importance of productivity, efficiency, adaptation, and sustainability in supporting the development of competitive and sustainable dairy cattle production systems.
