Damas Nurhidayat, a student of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, won the Gold Medal in the Under-21 Kumite Men's -55 kg category at the 2026 Pekanbaru Open National Karate Championship, held at Gelanggang Remaja Sports Hall, Pekanbaru, Riau, from 22–24 May 2026.
Damas Nurhidayat (250306033), a student of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, has once again brought pride to the Faculty of Agriculture by achieving an outstanding accomplishment at the 2026 Pekanbaru Open National Karate Championship.
The national-level championship was held at Gelanggang Remaja Sports Hall in Pekanbaru, Riau, from 22–24 May 2026, bringing together karate athletes from various regions across Indonesia.
During the competition, Damas won the Gold Medal in the Men's Under-21 Kumite -55 kg category after delivering an outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
This achievement demonstrates that students of the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science excel not only academically but also in sports. It is hoped that this accomplishment will inspire all students to continue developing their potential, compete with integrity, and bring honor to the Undergraduate Program in Animal Science, the Faculty of Agriculture, and Universitas Sumatera Utara at the regional, national, and international levels.
