It is a great pride for the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) to have a Professor who can serve as an exemplary figure. The inspirational stories from the life of Prof. Dr. Ir. Sayed Umar, MS., have been compiled into an autobiography, which was officially launched on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the D.H. Penny Building of the Faculty of Agriculture, USU.
This autobiography is titled "Perjuangan Anak Desa Sebagai Pendidik, Pengabdi, dan Pencinta Lingkungan" (The Struggle of a Village Child as an Educator, Servant, and Environmental Lover). The book contains excerpts from Prof. Dr. Ir. Sayed Umar's life as he has worked among the community, both as a public servant and a community advocate.
In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, MS., highly appreciated the book launch and expressed his hope that this book would become an exemplary model for future generations.
