Speaker Denaldy Mulino Mauna, President Director of PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), is presenting material on business process design and corporate transformation to students.

In his presentation, Denaldy explained the concept of Business Process Design as the design of activities, responsibilities, resources, and information to achieve organizational goals and create value for customers. Effective business process design plays a role in improving time and cost efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, maintaining output quality, and ensuring that organizational risks and accountability are properly managed.

He also discussed Business Process Redesign through two approaches: Business Process Improvement, which focuses on gradual improvements, and Business Process Reengineering, which emphasizes fundamental changes to work processes. The success of this transformation requires alignment between strategy, human resource readiness, and governance, as well as measurable performance impacts.

Students participating in the FP USU Teaching Practitioner Program take part in discussions and group work to analyze a business process design case study. The activity continued with presentations of the discussion results by group representatives as a way to apply the material and develop students' analytical, collaboration, and communication skills.

As an example of its implementation, Denaldy presented the transformation of PTPN Group through the EntrePlanters culture, an entrepreneurial mindset that encourages every member of the company to manage assets with a sense of ownership while prioritizing productivity, cost-effectiveness, and speed (PCS). One of its implementations is Procurement Excellence, an integrated procurement system achieved through simplification, standardization, and digitalization, resulting in measurable efficiency while strengthening corporate governance.

In addition, participants gained insights into the transformation of PTPN Group's business structure from a region-based management model to a commodity-based model to strengthen strategic focus, business integration, and value creation. The material was complemented by a case study entitled “Is Subholding Transformation a Business Process Reengineering?”, which invited students to analyze changes in the company's management model based on the concept of business process reengineering.

As a form of appreciation, prizes and awards were presented to the group with the best presentation and the most active student throughout the activity.

In the final session, students were divided into several groups to discuss and present the case study. This activity provided an opportunity for students to develop their analytical skills, teamwork, and ability to present ideas based on the material they had learned. As a form of appreciation, prizes and awards were presented to the group with the best presentation and the most active student throughout the activity.

The program concluded with the presentation of a certificate to the speaker in recognition of his contribution and the knowledge he shared. This was followed by an exchange of souvenirs among the Faculty of Agriculture, USU, the School of Postgraduate Studies, USU, and PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), symbolizing appreciation and stronger institutional relations.
