The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, welcomed a visit from BPN Karo Regency to discuss a collaboration plan under the Agrarian Reform Access Handling Program. The meeting is expected to be the starting point for real collaboration in several priority villages, involving USU lecturers in community service activities.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), welcomed a visit from the National Land Agency (BPN) of Karo Regency on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the FP USU Dean's Meeting Room. The meeting discussed the implementation plan for a collaboration under the Agrarian Reform Access Handling Program initiated by BPN Karo Regency together with FP USU.

 

The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, MS, accompanied by Vice Dean III Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si., Head of the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Study Program Dr. Ir. Taufik Rizaldi, S.T.P., M.P., Head of the Collaboration Subdivision, and academic staff. From BPN Karo Regency, Veronika T., S.T., M.H., Head of Land Structuring and Empowerment Section, was present along with team members and field staff.

 

In her remarks, Prof. Tavi Supriana expressed, “The Faculty of Agriculture warmly welcomes the proposed collaboration between BPN Karo Regency and FP USU within the Agrarian Reform program. To increase FP USU’s contribution, our lecturers can partner with BPN Karo Regency through community service initiatives.”

 

Ms. Veronika also stated in her remarks, “BPN Karo Regency hopes to establish a collaboration with FP USU in the Agrarian Reform Access Handling Program in several of our priority villages going forward, namely Dokan Village in Merek Subdistrict and Perbesi Village in Tigabinanga Subdistrict.”

 

It is hoped that this collaboration plan can soon be realized and make a positive contribution for both the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and BPN Karo Regency.
