Warisman officially earned his Doctorate in Agricultural Science from the Faculty of Agriculture, USU, after presenting his dissertation on improving the quality of BSF larvae as feed for broiler chickens. The dissertation defense, held on June 5, 2025, was chaired by the Vice Rector I and attended by promoters and examiners from USU and IPB. Warisman graduated with the distinction of Very Satisfactory.

The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held another doctoral dissertation defense on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM WIB in the IMT GT Room, Rectorate Building, USU. This event marked the final stage for Mr. Warisman, a student of the Doctoral Program in Agricultural Science, in achieving his doctoral degree.

 

During the open examination, Warisman presented his dissertation titled “Improving the Nutritional Quality of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Larvae by Reducing Chitin Content Using Organic Acids as a Protein Source for Broiler Chicken Feed.” The session was chaired by the Vice Rector I, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A.

 

The examination committee consisted of the following promoters and examiners:
• Prof. Dr. Harry Agusnar, M.Sc. (Promoter)
• Dr. Ir. Ma’ruf Tafsin, M.Si., IPM (Co-Promoter)
• Prof. Dr. Ir. Yunilas, M.P. (Co-Promoter)
• Dr. Ade Trisna, S.Pt., M.M. (Examiner)
• Dr. Ir. Nevy Diana Hanafi, S.Pt., M.Si., IPM (Examiner)
• Prof. Dr. Ir. Nahrowi, M.Sc. from Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) as external examiner.

 

Following a smooth and comprehensive examination process, Warisman was officially declared to have passed with the distinction of Very Satisfactory.
Congratulations on this remarkable achievement. May his doctoral degree contribute significantly to the advancement of science, particularly in the field of sustainable animal feed, and bring benefits to society at large.
