Saturday (April 27, 2024), @imasperausu (Student Association of Aquatic Resources Management, Faculty of Agriculture, USU) collaborated with @konservasi_ind in the Earth Day celebration "Medan VS Plastics" at Sei Tuan Indah Beach, Deli Serdang. The Earth Day celebration was filled with beach clean-up activities, mangrove planting, and environmental talks.
A total of 150 participants consisting of USU students, USU Faculty of Agriculture lecturers, North Sumatra Marine and Fisheries Service, North Sumatra Environment and Forestry Service, and NGO partners, such as Green Justice Indonesia, Yayasan Orangutan Sumatera Lestari-Orangutan Information Center, Yayasan Gajah Sumatra, and Yayasan Konservasi Pesisir Indonesia participated in this celebration.
USU's Director of Student Affairs, Mrs. Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi, M.Psi welcomed IMASPERA's initiative and hoped that the activities could continue. The Environmental Talk session was filled by Mr. Wira Ary Ardana (KI), Mr. Zufriwandi Siregar (DKP), and Mrs. Jamillah Pattimura (DLHK) guided by the moderator, Hilal Idama Dalimunthe. The event was closed with the distribution of souvenirs by Mrs. Vindy Rilani Manurung, S.Pi as the lecturer in charge to the three speakers and the moderator.
