The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, has once again achieved a proud accomplishment through the success of its lecturers in securing funding from the 2026 Indonesia Collaborative Research Program (RKI). This achievement serves as tangible proof of the academics’ commitment to producing innovative collaborative research with meaningful impacts on the advancement of science and the agricultural sector in Indonesia.
Under Scheme B, the research team led by Prof. Dr. Lisnawita, S.P., M.Si. from Universitas Sumatera Utara successfully obtained funding for a study entitled “Genetic Diversity of Meloidogyne graminicola Populations and Microbiomes and Their Implications for Rice Yield Losses.” The research involves collaboration with Fitrianingrum Kurniawati from Institut Pertanian Bogor, Ahmad Rafiqi Tantawi, and Mark G. Sterken as an international partner.
Meanwhile, under Scheme A, Prof. Ir. Hotnida Sinaga, M.Phil., Ph.D. from Universitas Sumatera Utara also became part of a collaborative research team led by Wenny Bekti Sunarharum from Universitas Brawijaya together with Dian Anggraini Suroto from Universitas Gadjah Mada. The research project is entitled “Metabolomic, In Silico, and In Vitro Approaches in the Development of Functional Postbiotic Coffee Cascara Beverages Enriched with Cinnamon as an Antidiabetic Agent.”
This achievement is expected to further strengthen national and international research collaboration networks while generating innovations that provide tangible contributions to the development of agriculture, health, and food security in Indonesia. The academic community of the Faculty of Agriculture USU also expressed appreciation and congratulations for these accomplishments and hopes that all stages of the research projects will proceed smoothly and deliver broad benefits to society.
