Medan – The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), has once again recorded an achievement in research and technology downstreaming through a research team that received funding from the Expert Team for the 2026 Fiscal Year Pre-Feasibility Study under the Research Downstreaming Program – Technology Push for the 2026 Fiscal Year, organized by the Directorate General of Research and Development of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek RI).
The 2027 Funding (Batch 2) was awarded to a team led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si., a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture USU, through an innovation entitled “Commercialization of Ramie Functional Food Technology Platform (RFFTP): Multi-Product Technology Based on Ramie Leaves as Standardized Functional Food.”
The development team consists of Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si., Adrian Hilman, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., R.B. Moh. Ibrahim Fatoni, S.P., M.P., Syahira Addina, S.Pi., M.Si., and Ridwansyah, STP., M.Si., all of whom are from the Faculty of Agriculture USU.
Through this funding, the team is developing the Ramie Functional Food Technology Platform (RFFTP) as a multi-product technology based on ramie leaves for standardized functional food. The development of this innovation is aimed at advancing research results toward the commercialization stage while increasing the added value of ramie leaf utilization.
The innovation supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).
This achievement is expected to further strengthen the research, innovation, and technology downstreaming ecosystem at the Faculty of Agriculture and Universitas Sumatera Utara, while encouraging the utilization of research results that provide benefits for the development of functional food and society.
