In his speech, USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin highlighted that the land donation and the construction of the Closed House Broiler represent a tangible collaboration between higher education institutions and the business and industrial sectors (DUDI). This aligns with the directives of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbud Ristek) of Indonesia, Nadiem Makarim, who encourages universities to establish the Kampus Merdeka ecosystem to address social issues, industrial challenges, and higher education problems through partnerships with industry, businesses, the workforce, and society.
Dr. Muryanto Amin also expressed his hope that the Closed House Broiler facility would be utilized to its fullest by students of the Animal Husbandry Study Program as a practical laboratory. He emphasized that the outcomes of this facility should not only benefit USU but also provide a positive impact on the surrounding community.
“This donation is extraordinary as it also realizes the grand vision of the Minister. I am confident that with the construction of this Closed House Broiler facility, students can fully utilize it for hands-on practice. While theories are learned on campus, practical work can be conducted here. I hope that my students can use this facility as a laboratory to learn how to practice, manage, and distribute broiler chickens,” concluded Dr. Muryanto Amin.
