Medan, July 30, 2026 – The Food Technology Study Program of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU), continues to strengthen its commitment to achieving “Excellent” Accreditation in 2027 through the second mentoring session on the preparation of accreditation documents, held on Thursday (July 30).
The activity featured Dr. Farida Linda Sari Siregar, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., an internal assessor from the Directorate of Quality Assurance of Universitas Sumatera Utara, who provided mentoring, evaluation, and strategic input regarding the completeness and quality of the accreditation documents. The mentoring was part of an effort to ensure that all accreditation criteria are optimally fulfilled in accordance with applicable standards.
The meeting was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, USU, Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec., Vice Dean I Dr. Nini Rahmawati, S.P., M.Si., Vice Dean II Prof. Luthfi Aziz Mahmud Siregar, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., and Vice Dean III Dr. Ir. Posma Mangasi Pintaria Marbun, M.P. The presence of the faculty leadership demonstrated full institutional support for improving the quality of the Food Technology Study Program in preparation for the accreditation process.
During the mentoring session, the accreditation team and internal assessor evaluated each criterion, refined supporting documents, and strengthened the strategy for preparing the accreditation form to comprehensively demonstrate the quality of education, research, community service, governance, and study program outcomes. This process is expected to further enhance the readiness of the Food Technology Study Program for the accreditation assessment while fostering a sustainable culture of quality assurance.
Through synergy among the study program, the USU Directorate of Quality Assurance, and faculty leadership, the Food Technology Study Program of FP USU is optimistic about achieving its target of “Excellent” Accreditation in 2027. This achievement is expected to further strengthen the study program’s academic reputation, improve the quality of educational services, and produce graduates who are excellent, adaptive, and competitive at both national and international levels.
This effort also aligns with the Faculty of Agriculture USU’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through continuous improvement of higher education quality, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) through strengthened governance, quality assurance systems, and transparent and accountable institutional practices.
