The Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FP USU) and the Faculty of Agriculture of Universitas Graha Nusantara (FP UGN) Padangsidimpuan signed an agreement to implement their cooperation as a commitment to strengthening collaboration in the implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education. The activity was held on Monday, July 27, 2026, in the Dean's Meeting Room of FP USU and was attended by the Dean of FP USU, Dr. Rulianda Purnomo Wibowo, S.P., M.Ec.; Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization, Dr. Ir. Posma Mangasi Pintaria Marbun, M.P.; and the Dean of FP UGN, Dr. Angelia Utari Harahap, S.Pt., M.P., along with their respective teams.
The implementation of the cooperation was realized through a Community Service Program (PkM) under the Partner Village scheme, entitled "Sustainable Post-Hydrometeorological Disaster Assistance Model through UMKM Integration and Environmental Management to Create a Disaster-Resilient Village in Muara Huta Raja Village, Muara Batang Toru District, South Tapanuli Regency." The program, which was conducted on June 15, 2026, featured Dr. Ameilia Zuliyanti Siregar, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., a lecturer at FP USU, as a speaker.
In addition to reaffirming their commitment to the program that has been implemented, the two faculties also discussed plans for the next phase of cooperation, namely collaboration and assistance for study programs at FP UGN in preparing for Unggul Accreditation. Through this synergy, FP USU is expected to share its experience and best practices in strengthening governance, curricula, and academic quality assurance.
This activity also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through improving the quality of higher education and strengthening study program capacity; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through UMKM empowerment; SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through strengthening community resilience to disasters; SDG 13 (Climate Action) through efforts to adapt to hydrometeorological disasters; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening partnerships between higher education institutions to promote inclusive and sustainable development.
