Head of the Undergraduate Program in Aquatic Resources Management (MSP), Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Dr. Ahmad Muhtadi, S.Pi., M.Si., participated as part of the mentoring team in the International Journal Submission/Revision Clinic (Scopus Writing Bootcamp) Batch II. The activity, organized by the Directorate of Scientific Writing, Publication, and Publishing (DITP3I) USU, was held on October 6–7, 2026, at the DITP3I USU Hall, Jalan Universitas No. 8–10, Medan.
The involvement of Dr. Ahmad Muhtadi was part of an official assignment from DITP3I USU to support scientific publication mentoring. The activity brought together participants with mentoring teams from various faculties through manuscript mentoring sessions, consultations, and discussions on strategies for selecting Scopus-indexed journals.

In the activity documentation, Dr. Ahmad Muhtadi was seen directly assisting participants through discussions and manuscript reviews using a laptop. This approach provided participants with an opportunity to consult on manuscripts they were preparing or revising before resubmitting them to their target journals.
The first day's activities included manuscript mentoring, consultations, and strategies for selecting Scopus-indexed journals. Meanwhile, the second day's agenda focused on publication mentoring, manuscript finalization, and publication follow-up. This activity structure provided participants with opportunities to progressively improve their manuscripts together with the mentoring team.
Selecting a journal that is appropriate for the research topic and scope is an important part of publication preparation. Through this consultation forum, participants had the opportunity to discuss manuscript readiness and the improvements needed before proceeding with the submission or revision process.
The participation of the Head of the MSP Study Program in this activity represents a contribution by the Faculty of Agriculture to strengthening the culture of academic writing and scientific publication within USU. The mentoring is expected to help participants prepare more mature manuscripts while expanding the dissemination of research findings through reputable scientific journals. This effort is in line with SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the improvement of academic capacity and competencies, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration and knowledge sharing in support of strengthening scientific publication and the dissemination of research findings.
